Hail, fellows. I bring ye news of another book release.
‘THE FORGETFUL KNIGHT‘, written by me and illustrated by the masterful Fred Blunt, is finally available – although you might have a bit of a quest to find a copy in the UK.
I think it’s easily my funniest book yet. I’m so thrilled that Jess Garrison (my editor at Dial Books in New York) teamed me with Fred and that she was brave enough to keep all the jokes in. I’m amazed that we got away with including a whole spread featuring a dragon throwing up, as well as the blazing bottoms and much biffing with swords.
This book really is just my cup of tea. Early reviews seem to show that everyone likes this sort of “Monty Python-esque absurdity” – well, OF COURSE THEY DO. More of this sort of thing, please, publishers, we all need a good laugh.
My thanks to GeekMom who says, “The Forgetful Knight is one of the most delightful children’s books I’ve read in quite some time and we read a lot of books.” They say a lot of other lovely things, too. (It’s tempting to post the entire review here because it is just so gloriously glowing, but that would be showing off.)
