Tim Peake is safely back on planet earth, and aren’t we lucky to have him?

It’s been an absolute treat to follow his space adventures. They’re saying his Principia mission has directly impacted on at least one million kids. Well, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing ‘Goodnight Spaceman‘ with hundreds of families all over the country, and I’ve seen at first hand how Tim has inspired just about everybody.
At Barnes Kids’ Lit Fest
Tim is a great spokesperson for science, engineering and space exploration. He’s also a great role model. He’s living proof that you can do anything you dream of if you work hard for it – plus you can do it with a smile on your face. Not many astronauts (and not many people, for that matter) can connect with children like Tim does. Whatever their backgrounds, our children now see space exploration as an achievable goal, not a far off dream.
Did you see Tim reading ‘Goodnight Spaceman’ as the CBeebies Bedtime Story from space? That was quite a moment. You can catch it on the BBC iPlayer for one more week*. What really excites me is this: somewhere out there, a little girl or boy is watching and dreaming that they’ll one day follow in Tim’s footsteps with the ESA. You know what? Thanks to Tim, THEY WILL. Bravo, Major Peake!
